Remove jewellery for demanding activities
Take off fine jewellery before sport, heavy lifting, household cleaning or swimming. Impact can distort delicate settings and clasps, while chemicals, cosmetics and chlorinated water may affect surfaces or leave residue.
Clean gently
For many plain gold pieces, a soft cloth is enough for regular care. Avoid abrasive powders, hard brushes and unverified chemical solutions. Jewellery with diamonds, gemstones, pearls or detailed settings may require a different approach, so ask a jeweller before deep cleaning.
Store pieces separately
Chains can tangle and different pieces can scratch one another. Close clasps before storage and keep jewellery in separate soft pouches or lined compartments. Lay fine chains flat where possible and avoid placing heavy items on top of delicate pieces.
Send us a clear photograph or bring your jewellery to our Alanya store. We can advise on appropriate care and whether professional attention is recommended.
Check clasps and settings
Occasionally inspect ring settings, earring backs, bracelet closures and chain clasps. If a stone moves, a clasp feels different or a chain develops a kink, stop wearing the piece until it can be assessed. Early attention can prevent loss or further damage.
Choose professional care when needed
Some marks are part of normal wear and give jewellery character. When a piece needs polishing, repair, sizing or a detailed inspection, professional handling is the safest choice. Advice should take account of the gold, construction, stones and history of the individual piece.
